Young Scientists Photovoice Competition

Young Scientists Photovoice Competition (Call for Submissions)

Welcome to the submission portal for the IUFOST IUFOST/IAFoST-ECSS Young Scientist Photovoice Competition. This competition is a part of the activities of our second international symposium with the theme: "Food Innovation in a Post-Pandemic World."

The aim of the symposium is to highlight the innovative research accomplishments of early career and young scientists, as well as foster important discussions on the contributions of innovations needed to ensure a more sustainable and food-secure environment.

We invite young scientists (undergraduate and postgraduate students in agriculture, food science, nutrition and related fields) worldwide to a photovoice recording of innovation(s) required in a post-pandemic global food system to ensure a more sustainable and food-secure environment. Proposed submissions must address one or more of the four pillars of food security: availability, access, utilization, and stability.

An international team of judges will assess submissions based on relevance to the symposium's theme, how innovative the proposed idea is, creativity, and overall artistic and visual impression. The photovoice presentation will consist of one slide and a maximum duration of three minutes.

The deadline for submission is September 23, 2023, 11:59 EST. Three (3) finalists will be selected to receive award certificates and cash prizes. The winners will be announced during the Symposium on September 28, 2023, and their photovoice entries will be posted on the IUFOST website.
