General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The GDPR came into force in May 2018, and requires that we provide you with the following information.
Legal basis
The GDPR requires us to state the lawful basis for the processing activity that we perform. Using IUFoST provides an implicit contract between the user and IUFoST: the website provides user services for individuals who have registered on the IUFoST site.
Data controller
The GDPR requires that we provide you with the identity of the 'Data Controller', who determines the purposes and means of processing personal data. For the IUFoST project, the data controller is the IUFoST Administration Manager. Contact us following this link: contacts.
Data processor
The 'Processor' is responsible for processing personal data on behalf of a controller. For the IUFoST, this is the Administrative Staff and members of the IUFoST project team.
Lead data protection supervisory authority
IUFoST operates in many countries but the data and processing activity is done on servers in Canada. IUFoST opts to use the Portuguese Information Commissioner's Office as its lead data protection supervisory authority.
