Joint Communication IUFoST - TAFST: the IUFoST World Food Congress 2026 (25–29 October 2026)

28 December 2025 - IUFoST and TAFST wish to inform the global food science and technology community that, due to unforeseen challenges, the IUFoST World Food Congress 2026, scheduled to take place from 25 to 29 October 2026, will not take place in Kaohsiung as originally planned.

This decision was taken following careful consideration and close consultation, with the shared objective of safeguarding the quality, inclusiveness, and global engagement that characterize the World Food Congress.

TAFST reaffirms its strong and continued commitment to supporting the global food science and technology community under the leadership of IUFoST, and to contributing to IUFoST’s mission of advancing food science and innovation for the benefit of society.

IUFoST, for its part, remains fully committed to bringing together the international food science and technology community within the same region, and confirms that the World Food Congress 2026 will take place on the same dates, from 25 to 29 October 2026, as originally planned.

The new host location will be announced within the next few days.

All abstract submissions, registrations, and other commitments made in relation to the Kaohsiung event will be transferred to the newly announced location of the IUFoST World Food Congress 2026. These submissions and commitments will be fully honored and administered by the Congress organizers, ensuring continuity and fairness for all participants.

IUFoST expresses its sincere appreciation to TAFST for its strong support to the organization of the World Food Congress, for the original bid, and for the considerable efforts made to establish and maintain the initial organizational arrangements for the Congress. These contributions are gratefully acknowledged and reflect TAFST’s continued commitment to the global food science and technology community.

IUFoST and TAFST thank the global food science and technology community for its understanding, trust, and continued engagement. Further updates will be communicated promptly through official IUFoST channels.
