In the Pitch Competition featuring research work by the PhD candidate finalists in five-minute segments, the depth and breadth of the ongoing work in research institutes around the world was displayed as it related to the Sustainable Development Goals. The top Pitch presentations were recognised at the Symposium closing today.

- 2nd Prize: Jerrell Felim, National Taiwan Ocean University. Utilization of Jellyfish to Conserve Ocean Sustainability and as a Functional Food for Osteoarthritis
- 3rd Prize: Anjali Vithanage, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Effect of edible oil-mediated intestinal absorption of chlorogenic acid on antioxidant capacity in Wistar rats
