Announcing New Fellows of the International Academy of
Food Science and Technology (IAFoST)
27 Fellows from 14 countries are elected
13 April 2026 - The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) is proud to present the 15th class of outstanding food scientists and technologists to be elected to the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST). These 27 new Fellows will be inducted by the Academy Executive Council, led by Professor Fereidoon Shahidi, IAFoST President, in October 2026 at the 23rd IUFoST World Food Congress to be held in Hong Kong.

Nominations for each new roster are made by IAFoST Fellows and/or IUFoST Adhering Bodies. Those elected to IAFoST by the Fellows of the Academy are acknowledged by their peers as outstanding representatives of international food science and technology.
The International Academy of Food Science (IAFoST) collectively forms a diverse pool of highest-level scientific expertise in food science and technology and related disciplines from which IUFoST draws non-aligned expert advice on scientific matters. Fellows serve as independent professional leaders who engage and endorse high standards of ethics and scientific endeavors.
The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) is the global scientific organization representing food scientists, technologists, engineers, and related disciplines and agencies in its work in more than 100 countries. IUFoST is dedicated to advancing food science and technology for the benefit of humanity through global collaboration, scientific excellence, and knowledge sharing. IUFoST works with many international organizations including UNIDO, FAO, and IUNS to advance this mission. IUFoST is the Food Science and Technology disciplinary representative elected by its multi-disciplinary peers into ICSU, now called the International Science Council (ISC). In addition to its Commissions, Committees, Task Forces and Working Groups, IUFoST Disciplinary and Special Interest Groupings include ISNFF - International Society for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals, ISFANS - International Society of Food Applications of Nanoscale Science, GFoRSS - Global Food Regulatory Science Society, ISFE – International Society of Food Engineers, ISOPOW – Symposium on Properties of Water in Food.
