IUFoST Awards and Honours - Call for Nominations

22 November 2023 - The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) today announces the Call for Nominations for the following global recognitions and honours:

 

1. IUFoST Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is given to honour an individual for pre-eminence in and contributions to the field of food science and technology over his/her career.  The individual will have made significant contributions to scientific knowledge with impact in areas such as the following: food safety; food quality; human nutrition; product, process, package innovation; food security (availability, accessibility, affordability); consumer acceptability; communication of food science and technology, regulations, combinations of above; actions to improve Food Science and Technology education or dissemination in the country or around the world. https://www.iufost.org/awards-and-honours/overview-and-criteria-lifetime-achievement-excellence-awards-2023

IUFoST Lifetime Achievement Award Winners, recognised at the 21st World Congress of Food Science and Technology in 2022  were Dr. Ruth Oniang’o  (Kenya) and Dr. Delia Rodriguez-Amaya (Brazil).

 

2. IUFoST Young Researcher Award

IUFoST Young Researcher, recognised at the 21st World Congress of Food Science and Technology in 2022, was Dr. Dominic Agyei (New Zealand).

 

3. IUFoST World Congress Distinguished Lecturer

IUFoST World Food Congresses traditionally include an address by a globally recognised and distinguished leader who carries a message consistent with the theme of the Congress. An invitation to speak as the Distinguished Lecturer both honours the contributions of the invitee and promotes the dissemination of important scientific information internationally, emphasizing IUFoST's role as a leading source of global expertise in the area of food science and technology. https://www.iufost.org/article/distinguished-lecturer-iufost-world-congress

The IUFoST Distinguished Lecturer for the 21st World Congress of Food Science and Technology in 2022 was Dr. Joachim von Braun, Chair of the Scientific Group of the United Nations Food Systems Summit.

 

4. Nominations for 2024 Fellows of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST)

The Academy Executive Council of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST) is issuing a call for nominations for the 2024 Elections of Fellows to the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST), recognised as the global Academy representing scientific excellence in the discipline of Food Science and Technology and related fields. Fellows elected to IAFoST are acknowledged by their peers as outstanding representatives of international food science and technology. https://www.iufost.org/academy/nomination-criteria-2024-fellows

All awardees will be honoured during the IUFoST 22nd World Congress of Food Science and Technology  in Rimini, Italy 8 – 12 September 2024.
