The IUFoST Singapore Congress is on track to be another outstanding one. We are honoured that Dr. Shakuntala Haraksingh Thilsted, Global Lead, Nutrition and Public Health, World Fish, CGIAR, and 2021 World Food Prize Winner will join us to give a plenary address.
Inspired by the theme “Future of Food – Innovation, Sustainability & Health”, the 2022 World Congress Singapore logo takes a literal representation towards Food, Science and Technology, and interprets them graphically as an Apple, a Laboratory Flask and a Robotic Arm. Inspired from the apple’s dual meaning as food item, as well as a symbol of knowledge, the apple is fused with a laboratory flask. This is in turn held by a robotic arm harnessing the impact of science and technology. The apple can also be interpreted as a symbol of health, based on the age-old saying that “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, while its green leaf emphasises sustainability. Taken all together, the logo epitomises how the future of food is dependent on driving innovation while accounting for sustainability and health.
