Research in food engineering for Industry X.0
#1
The food industry is currently challenged with the digitalization requirements and reducing the carbon footprint of the processes while the recent food safety issues (specifically observed in the low moisture foods) indicate the requirement for novel processing approaches. These two cases will lead to the future direction of research in the food engineering discipline to get ready for industry X.0.
This is the place to share and ask for these challenges for the near future research in food engineering.

I think there are now many innovative technologies in the food sector, which we should not overlook, and the student should take a small summary of them, for example, but not limited to:

3D /4D Food printing
Cultured Meat (In-vitro Meat)
Cultured Milk (Lab-grown Milk)
IoT (Internet of Things) and its role in food safety and quality
Robotics in Food industry

Thank you for your contribution. I fully agree. I attach a very simple slides for 3D printing. It would be good to share here teaching materials on these more recent topics. Thank you.
