Fresh Cut Produce Working Group

Fresh Cut produce is very important in many countries, and there is hardly another product group whose entire value chain must be so intensively observed. This group will start with a compilation of the some important data including which product is coming to market, what is the different shelf life in different countries, what are the possibilities to add to the washing water etc.

Future considerations will include how to improve the safety of fresh fruits and vegetables, influences of breeding on food quality, regulations on the washing process, and packaging atmosphere measurement and influence. Technological issues including cutting, cooling, surface drying, and surface disinfecting will also be considered.
